Africa Growth Strategy, Risk Management and Reputation Enhancement
Eric and Jessica are the co-founders of Africa Value Consulting. They bring 45 years of combined experience in value creation across multiple industries all over Africa.
Eric is a Mauritian born naturalised South African currently living in Johannesburg. An Industrial Engineer (WITS) by training he is fluent in French, English and Mandarin. Eric also holds a post grad in Advanced Marketing. His 25 year professional career includes senior positions in Supply Chain, Procurement, Trading and Corporate Affairs in both Africa and China. He has worked for globally distinguished companies such Air Liquide, Bridgestone, 3M Company and SABMiller.
For the last 15 years, Eric was a core member of the senior SABMiller Africa team, and since Oct 2016 at ABInBev Africa. He had numerous roles at SABMiller, namely: Africa & Asia Supply Chain Manager, Africa Procurement Business Director, Africa Head of Procurement and also the Africa Sustainability Integration Manager in the Corporate Affairs team.
Eric has an excellent track record in the strategy and execution of transformation and centralisation projects specifically within emerging markets. His many interests include, eco-tourism, poverty alleviation, travel, food and sport.
Jessica is a South African BA Law (WITS) graduate and a registered Chartered Public Relations Practitioner with 20 years of experience in both agencies and corporates, including First National Bank and The South African Breweries. Her communications experience spans both internal and external - from investor relations and crisis management to influencer engagement strategies and best practice in the use of data to drive reputation analysis and monitoring.
She has a thorough understanding of both the commercial and reputational imperatives driving business performance and is passionate about helping companies reach their potential through the application of holistic, strategic communications and shared value principles.
She has consistently delivered exceptional results and her passion for communications is matched by her need to make a difference. Throughout Jessica’s career she has sought out projects that have meaning beyond shareholder returns. Her underage drinking campaign at SAB, 18+ #BeTheMentor, achieved a 52% decrease in the incidence of underage drinking amongst the control group. The powerful TVC created for this campaign was shortlisted for numerous awards and was named one of the Top 6 global advertisements. Jessica was furthermore instrumental in the set up and initial PR and fund raising efforts of SAB Boucher Conservation NPC which is involved in tackling the scourge of rhino poaching. All of these initiatives received high-level government support.
